Lynne Giacalone (Innkeeper's Wife), originally from Michigan, makes her Toronto debut in The Phantom of the Opera. Lynne has appeared in leading roles with the opera companies of Kentucky, Chautauqua, Connecticut and Nevada, Texas Opera Theater, Greater Miami Opera, and the North Caroline Triangle Music Theater performing such roles as Adina, Despina, Gretel, Musetta, and Valennciene. Her opening night performance of Gianetta in The Gondoliers was broadcast live on National Public Radio with the Lyric Opera of Dallas throughout the southwestern United States bringing her many outstanding reviews. As a concert soloist, she has performed with symphony orchestras in Michigan, Ohio, Connecticut and New York performing works such as Handel's Messiah, The Seasons, Bach's Magnificat and Mass in B Minor. While still in graduate school, Lynne performed with the Warsaw Philharmonic in Poland, and earlier, had toured Europe with Robert Shaw and the Hungarian Philharmonic. With a Master of Music degree from the University of Michigan, Ms. Giacalone also holds the Robert E. Smith Award from the Connecticut Opera and the Elaine Laughlin Award from the Chautauqua Opera for her outstanding work on the stage. Lynne and her cat, Tarzan, love Toronto and thank their friends and family for all their support.
