Sally Harrison studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and the National Opera Studio. Her roles have included Romilda in Xerxes, Despina in Così fan tutte, Pamina in The Magic Flute, Chloë in The Queen of Spades (English National Opera), Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor (Stowe Opera), Poppea in Agrippina (Buxton Festival), Maggie / Edith in Deidre Gribbbins’ Hey! Persephone (Almeida Opera), Minette in The English Cat (Berlin, Gütersloh, London, Montepulciano Festival), Despina in Così fan tutte and Musetta in La bohème (Scottish Opera), Countess Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro (OTC, Dublin), Musetta in La bohème (Opera Society of Hong Kong), Yum-Yum in The Mikado (La Fenice, Venice) and Gilda in Rigoletto (Bath & Wessex Opera). Concert engagements have included the St John Passion (Symphony Hall, Birmingham), Pierre Boulez’s Improvisations sur Mallarmé (Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra), Esther (Greenwich Festival), Messiah (Bournemouth Sinfonietta), Henze’s Novae de infinito laudes (London Sinfonietta) and Whispers of Heavenly Death (Ensemble Modern of Frankfurt), Mozart’s Mass in C Minor (Harrogate Festival) and Carmina Burana (Hallé Proms). Sally Harrison’s recordings include Mercédès in Carmen (Chandos) and Sultana Rose-in-Bloom in The Rose of Persia (BBC). She recently sang Micaëla in Carmen for English National Opera and during 2004 / 2005 sang Carlotta in The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty’s Theatre, London. Her future engagements include Mozart Mass in C Minor in Beverley Minster, the Four Last Songs with the Sussex Symphony Orchestra and A Sea Symphony in Sheffield Cathedral.
Ms. Harrison took over as Carlotta at Her Majesty's Theatre on 6th September, 2004.
