Bethany (Webmistress) is thrilled to be the Webmistress of the Carlotta Shrine. It has given her the opportunity to get to know some of the nicest women in theatre! Bethany is not just a webmistress, however. She has been in shows such as Cinderella, Bye Bye Birdie!, and Hello Dolly! in which she played the role of 2nd Cook. (A role sadly underestimated, by the way!) Bethany is equally at home in theatre, performing the starring role of the Angel in A Christmas Pagent, Townsperson/Gossip Lady in The Seven Ravens, and (at the University at Buffalo) the role of Millie in Picnic and Elma in Bus Stop, both by William Inge. Her other love is the music side of shows. She played oboe and bassoon with the Grand Island High School Wind Ensemble, clarinet in the University At Buffalo's Pep band, oboe in the University At Buffalo's Symphony Band, and bassoon and oboe with the Trinity Church Orchestra. As a member of both the GIHS Wind ensemble and Concert Band, she traveled to Cincinnatti for the Dixie Classic Festival, Ithaca college for an invited-schools-only concert with David Holsinger, and to Washington D.C. for the Dixie Classic Festival where the Wind Ensemble earned the awards of Best Woodwinds and Best Overall, among others. Also in High School, Bethany was a member of both Chorus and Concert Choir as a soprano.
Bethany is not just talented in the performing arts. In high school, she earned many academic awards such as her academic bar, the President's Award of Academic Fitness, and two academic scholarships at graduation. She was a member of National Honor Society, Historian and Publicity for the International Club, as well as being a Mentor to an elementary child and volunteering her services as a tutor for children in the middle school.
