David Hillman was born in London and studied at the Royal College of Music and the London Opera School with Joan Cross. He made his operatic debut with the Welsh National Opera and has since appeared in many roles with that company. He has sung regularly with Sadler's Wells/ English National Opera, including appearances in La Traviata, The Queen of Spades, Cosi fan Tutte, Die Flefermaus, Les Contes D'Hoffman and Anna Karenina. He has also sung with Scottish Opera, Royal Opera, Covent Garden, Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Opera North, Dublin Grand Opera, at the Wexford Festival and at the Adelina Patti Theatre, Craig-y-Nos. Appearances in the Continent have included Munich, Bonn, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Bordeaux, Lisbon, Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent and Geneva. He has also made frequent appearances in the United States, South Africa, Hong Kong and Bangkok. Most recently he has divided his time between musicals, and major operatic roles, ie: Kurt Weil's Street Scene, Bernstein's musical Candide, Radames Aida, Calif Turandot, Cavaradossi Tosca and Faust Mephistophele. David also goes to many concerts throughout the UK.
