Canadian tenor Gary Rideout has appeared with every major Canadian opera company and orchestra. Roles to his credit include Pinkerton in Calgary Opera's production of Madama Butterfly, Bacchus in Ariadne Auf Naxos with Opera East and numerous performances with the San Fransisco Opera in Rigoletto, Die Fledermaus, Lulu and Falstaff. Mr. Rideout's concert engagements have included appearances with the Toronto Symphony under the baton of Erich Kunzel , as well as a Carnegie Hall debut in Hayden's St. Nicholas Mass. Mr. Rideout recently completed a long engagement as Piangi in New York on Broadway and has just returned from San Fransisco Opera's production of The Makropoulos Case.
Gary Rideout died on 29 September 2007 from pneumonia.
